One can never have too many little kebab joints. Especially not in Riga, which is so dominated by absolutely worthless chains of kebab restaurants. Therefore, it's worth keeping your eyes peeled and looking for alternatives. I have previously reviewed a number of such alternatives, and now it's time for another one: Pakistānas kebabs, which recently opened up a new shop at Krišjāņa Barona iela 28a.
The good: What Pakistānas kebabs does best is kebab and falafel. It's fresh, pretty tasty and I dare say that you will not be (very) disappointed. I recommend that you get it wrapped/stuffed in bread, although the doner plate with fries and veggies is tasty as well. Also, I was happily surprised to discover that when they ask you if you want your food spicy, they actually mean it. Another good thing about Pakistānas kebabs is that it is dirt cheap. You can have a satisfying meal for less than €3, and that includes something to drink.
The bad: Did you hear that Pakistan is famous worldwide for having great burgers? If you did, you have been lied to. Just try Pakistānas kebabs burgers and you'll know why. Funny how something so tasteless can be so gross. Maybe it's because the cheese is so rubbery you could use it for bungee jumping. I don't know. Regardless, you have been warned.
The ugly: Well, that would be you, with kebab sauce all over your face, hands and clothes. Eating kebab is nasty business. Ok, the furniture ain't all that pretty either.
